ALPES D’OR, the virtuoso of chocolatiers since 1985, will continue their successful sponsorship of the Dublin Horse Show this year. The Show takes place from the 8th to the 12th of August, with the first international competition, the Speed Stakes sponsored by ALPES D’OR on Wednesday 8th of August. This international competition will feature household names from both the Irish and international show jumping circuit and was won by Irish show jumper, and native of Tipperary, Greg Broderick in 2017.
“Dublin is the biggest and most important horse show of the year for all the Irish International riders and the Speed Stakes being the first international class of the week is a great class to win. I had a great show last year and went on to win Leading International Rider at the Show in 2017. For me, as a rider and businessman, it is great to see companies like ALPES D’OR supporting showjumping and the Dublin Horse Show. Winning this class created a winning formula for me for 2017, and one I would greatly love to match in 2018. Since winning this competition and being introduced to Michael at ALPES D’OR chocolates we have decided to use their brand of chocolates at our New Facility at Ballypatrick. Well done to all involved with the Dublin Horse Show and every success for 2018” – Greg Broderick, winner of the international Speed Stakes 2017.
International show jumpers and their stunning horses will take to the RDS Main Arena on Wednesday 8th of August to compete in the Speed Stakes sponsored by ALPES D’OR. Riders are competing against the clock as well as the honour of winning the internatio nal class.
Show goers, equestrian lovers, participants, and chocolate connoisseurs will get to taste the luxurious and opulent taste of ALPES D’OR treats at this year’s Show. There will be an ensemble of rich, luxurious chocolate samples available in the band lawn area throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday of the Show.
The Dublin Horse show was first held in 1864 on the gardens of Leinster House. Since then the Dublin Horse Show has built up a reputation for inimitable mix of sport, style and socialising. It is an annual showcase for the best of the Irish Sport Horse industry.
”The sponsorship of the Dublin Horse Show and the international Speed Stakes is very important to us at ALPES D’OR. We were very happy to sponsor the Dublin Horse Show last year and are delighted and proud to be a part of this great event again this year. The Dublin Horse Show is an excellent event, emphasising the importance of the Irish sports horse on an international stage, while showcasing how important equestrian activities are to Irish culture. The RDS, along with the Dublin Horse Show, is timeless, classic and has a great set of indispensable principles relating to culture and inheritance; these are characteristics which we very much hold dear in the underlying value of the ALPES D’OR brand,” According to ALPES D’OR’s European Business Development Manager Michael O’Donovan.
Speaking on foot of the renewed sponsorship, RDS Chief Executive Michael Duffy outlined the importance of Alpes D’Or involvement: “We are delighted that Alpes D’Or are on-board again for the Speed Stakes which as the first international competition of the week has its own unique place. For the casual visitor it can be hard to appreciate the significant place that the Dublin Horse Show holds in the world of show jumping. Sponsorships such as this are a vital part in helping us retain our position as one of the best horse shows in the world.”
